No Sew Hair-Bow!

No Sew Hair-Bow!

Ribbon, hair clip, glue gun, done!  If you can fold and glue, then you can make this bow!no-sew-bowContributor post by Danielle at Korker Krazy

Today I'm going to show you how to make a no sew bow! Yes, that's right - no sewing at all!

Supplies Needed: 7/8" Grosgrain Ribbon - I'm using royal blue and white 3/8" Grosgrain Ribbon - for lining your clip and center, I'm using white. Alligator Clip Hot Glue Gun & Glue Lighter

Step 1: Cut 6" of your 7/8" Grosgrain Ribbon. You can use two strips of the same color or two different colors like I am using. Using your lighter heat seal all of your ribbon ends. Or if you have a wood burner you can cut and heat seal your ribbon all in one step! I highly reccommend a wood burner if make a lot of bows!

Step 2: Fold your ribbons in half and crease the center. If you are using a dark ribbon and can't see the center use a pen to mark the center. As long as you mark the center on the inside of the ribbon it will not be seen when the bow is finished.

Step 3: Fold each side into the center and hot glue them down. You don't want the centers to overlap - they should just meet at the crease you made.

Step 4: Complete step 3 with your other 6" piece of ribbon. If you are using a printed ribbon make sure the print side is facing down.

Step 5: Pinch the center of your bow towards you and put a small amount of glue on the inside. We only want to glue the very center, so don't use too much glue!

Step 6: We now have a piece on each side sticking up where we glued the center. We are going to fold each piece back and glue them down. Your center should now be flat.

Step 7: Complete steps 5 and 6 with your other piece of ribbon.

Step 8: Line up both bows together and glue. Make sure the centers are both lined up together and the loops are even on each end.

Step 9: Using your matching 3/8" ribbon we are going to wrap the center. Heat seal the end and glue it to the back of the bow. Wrap the center around the front and glue it down to the ribbon on the back.

Step 10: Line your alligator clip and glue it to the back of the bow.

You're all done! How quick and easy was that? These bows are great for everyday wear! You can also finish them different ways! I added a bottle cap to the center of mine to match my daughter's school logo - perfect spirit day wear! Or a knotted center instead of the flat center would be super cute!
